In a recent statement, a German defence ministry spokesperson clarified that the country is not currently planning to purchase more F-35 fighter jets from the U.S.-based manufacturer, Lockheed Martin. This announcement comes amid reports suggesting otherwise.
A parliamentary source previously informed Reuters that Defence Minister Boris Pistorius had intentions to acquire an additional 15 F-35 warplanes, a statement that seemed to support a report by Spiegel magazine.
However, the ministry spokesperson's confirmation marks a clear stance against these reports, emphasizing that acquiring more F-35 jets is not under consideration at this time.
