Ukraine's Strategic Strike: Chemical Plant Hit in Bryansk
Ukraine's military targeted a chemical plant in Russia's Bryansk region, using Franco-British Storm Shadow missiles. The plant, crucial for Moscow's war materials, was hit during a coordinated airstrike. Russia claimed its air defenses countered Ukrainian drones, with no injuries or damage reported post-attack.
In a significant escalation, Ukraine's military announced it had targeted a chemical plant in Russia's Bryansk region late Tuesday. The attack employed Franco-British Storm Shadow air-launched missiles, which reportedly penetrated Russia's air defense system.
The facility, described by Ukraine's Armed Forces as crucial for producing gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel, is considered vital to Russia's war effort. While the effects of the strike are currently being assessed, Reuters has been unable to independently verify Ukraine's claims.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that its air defense units destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones over Bryansk in a statement issued Tuesday evening. Bryansk's governor, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed the region had been targeted, but stated no injuries or damage were recorded.
