Cross-Border Drug Smuggling Network Exposed in Punjab

Punjab Police have dismantled a cross-border drug smuggling operation linked to Pakistan, capturing alleged kingpin Rajpal Singh and seizing over 5 kg of heroin. The operation revealed Singh's network was retrieving drug consignments via the Dera Baba Nanak sector. Ongoing investigations aim to unravel the complete network.

The Punjab Police successfully dismantled a sophisticated cross-border narcotics smuggling operation on Thursday, highlighting its connections to Pakistan. The operation led to the arrest of an alleged drug kingpin, Rajpal Singh, and the recovery of over 5 kilograms of heroin.

According to Gaurav Yadav, Director General of Police in Punjab, this intelligence-led mission by the Amritsar Commissionerate Police marked a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking. Singh was found to be operating a cross-border network, securing drug consignments through the Dera Baba Nanak sector.

Authorities have registered an FIR at the Chheharta police station in Amritsar as investigations continue to unveil the full extent of this drug network, including its backward and forward linkages.
