In a significant stride towards better governance, Meghalaya has seen a remarkable increase in its MGNREGS utilisation, from under Rs 500 crore in 2018 to nearly Rs 2,000 crore. Additionally, the number of houses sanctioned annually under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has climbed from 5,000 to 1.5 lakh.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma attributed these achievements not to new schemes, but to improved execution and governance. He unveiled a Mini Secretariat and Circuit House in Pynursla, part of a broader strategy for decentralized governance.

Under Sangma's administration, all 56 blocks in the state have received funds for permanent office complexes. Major investments have also been made in educational and health infrastructure, highlighting the government's commitment to efficient public service delivery.
