In a compelling stance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the Centre of delaying resolutions to critical state issues, including river water distribution and Panjab University restructuring. His announcement followed his participation in the Northern Zonal Council meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, where Mann vocally represented Punjab's interests.
CM Mann conveyed his firm opposition to claims from neighboring states attempting to encroach on Punjab's rights. Stressing the importance of maintaining Punjab's interests, he warned against sentiments being played with and reiterated his commitment to protecting state rights.
The chief minister highlighted that 11 out of 28 agenda items affecting Punjab were deferred due to his efforts. Mann also proposed utilizing 24 MAF of Chenab River water for irrigation in northern states and criticized neighboring states for pressuring Punjab over resource sharing.
