The opposition BJP has pressed the Karnataka government to prolong the forthcoming Legislature session by at least 20 days. The party argues that an extended session is vital to tackle the wide range of issues plaguing North Karnataka.
R Ashoka, the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, asserted that an eight-day session wouldn't suffice to delve into the developmental gaps persisting in districts like Belagavi and Kalaburagi. He emphasized the need for intensive debate on irrigation, infrastructure, investment, and farmer distress.
Ashoka demanded structured discussions on topics such as drought management and transparency in welfare schemes. He highlighted that a prolonged session would ensure accountability and provide a platform for legislators to voice unresolved constituency concerns.
