Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah leveled accusations against the BJP on Monday, denouncing the Delhi police's registering of an FIR against Congress stalwarts Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and others. The case, tinged with political overtones, is rooted in the contentious National Herald case.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar lambasted the move as 'unfair', stressing that there is a limit to the 'harassment'. He emphasized that the Gandhi family are mere custodians of the party's assets, a responsibility dating back to the Nehru era, firmly rebutting claims of personal ownership.

The Congress is standing firm against what they interpret as 'political torture'. Shivakumar urged the central government to eschew a 'vindictive attitude', warning such actions reflect poorly on ethical values and calling for political engagement through public and electoral discourse, not institutional misuse.
