Security measures have been intensified in Murshidabad's Beldanga, West Bengal, in anticipation of a mosque foundation ceremony set to take place on December 6, a significant date marking the demolition anniversary of Ayodhya's Babri Masjid.
Suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has proposed the construction, leading to heightened vigilance from police, Rapid Action Force (RAF), and BSF units. While tight security prevails and central forces patrol the vicinity, the local administration has not yet given formal approval for the event.
Kabir, planning to resign and start his own party, remains optimistic about maintaining peace, despite the tensions surrounding his controversial political history. The TMC suspended him for allegedly engaging in 'communal politics.'
