The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, emphasized the necessity of deploying an international stabilization force along the 'yellow' line buffer zone in Gaza. He stated that its purpose is to verify the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel within the enclave.
This multinational force, according to a UN Security Council resolution draft by Washington, would undertake various responsibilities. It would ensure the demilitarization of Gaza, ensure civilian protection, aid in delivering humanitarian assistance, and provide security for Gaza's borders.
The plan also includes supporting a newly trained Palestinian police force, aiming to establish a stable and peaceful environment in the region. The proposal indicates a multi-faceted approach to lasting peace.
