Bihar's Justice Overhaul: 100 New Fast-Track Courts Announced

Bihar Home Minister Samrat Choudhary declared on Sunday that the state will set up 100 fast-track courts to expedite the disposal of pending cases. This initiative aims to relieve the pressure on regular courts, allowing them to focus more on sensitive cases.
With over 18 lakh cases currently languishing in various courts across the state, Choudhary emphasized that the new courts would be a significant relief for the judicial system and litigants alike. The state plans a large-scale recruitment to operationalize these courts effectively.
To support this initiative, 900 new jobs will be created across various positions, from bench clerks to data entry operators. Furthermore, 79 courts will handle cases under the Arms Act specifically, aiming to enhance state law and order.
