The Rajasthan government has launched an investigation into alleged irregularities in the tendering process of the Jal Jeevan Mission, targeting a former additional chief secretary from the Public Health and Engineering Department and five other officials, as confirmed by government representatives on Tuesday.
This investigation is a component of the state's broader initiative to promote transparency and accountability while actively fighting corruption, negligence, and indiscipline among public servants.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma sanctioned a detailed examination under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act. The inquiry examines alleged fraudulent tender practices, collusion, and corruption within the scheme, implicating officials ranging from the chief engineer to technical committee members. Disciplinary actions under relevant service rules are also underway.
