A legal battle unfolds as a Delhi court scrutinizes a plea contesting the rejection of a case involving senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. The issue at hand is an allegation that Gandhi's name was wrongly included in the electoral rolls prior to her acquiring Indian citizenship, three years before 1983.

The revision plea comes on the heels of a September 11 order by a magisterial court, which dismissed the initial complaint, citing its lack of legal basis and describing it as an attempt to manipulate court jurisdiction. Scheduling further legal proceedings, the court has set January 6 as the date for subsequent discussions.

The plea, initiated by advocate Vikas Tripathi, outlines claims suggesting forgery and deception to a public authority. However, the magistrate previously highlighted that the assertions were merely speculative and unsubstantiated, relying on dubious documentation of the electoral roll from 1980.
