Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for a comprehensive reform in handling litigation related to defence land, emphasizing the need for more intelligent and predictable systems. In a move to enhance efficiency, Singh suggested creating real-time data mechanisms for case management at the Defence Estates Day event.
The Defence Estates Department, which manages India's largest government landholding, can benefit from these changes, according to Singh. He highlighted the importance of transparency and efficiency to meet the nation's future challenges, following Prime Minister Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047.
Singh further outlined initiatives to improve decision-making, land governance, and urban development within cantonments. These include digital land records and citizen-centric services, contributing towards a sustainable and technology-driven future.
