China has called on the United States to refrain from enacting what it describes as "negative, China-related provisions" within a newly passed defense bill. In a statement on Friday, China expressed its strong dissatisfaction and staunch opposition to the bill.
The National Defense Authorization Act for 2026, approved by the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, is accused by China of inflating perceived threats and undermining its sovereignty and developmental interests. Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, voiced these concerns during a routine press briefing.
Guo urged the United States to maintain an objective view of bilateral relations, emphasizing that China is prepared to take decisive actions to protect its interests.
