In a critical move, security forces on Wednesday successfully neutralized an improvised explosive device (IED) recovered from an orchard in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district. The discovery, reported by police, highlights ongoing security challenges in the region.
Officials revealed that the IED, which weighed approximately 6 kg, was found in Awneera village during a proactive search operation conducted in anticipation of the Republic Day celebrations. Such operations are vital in maintaining public safety and thwarting potential threats.
