On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi updated his social media profile pictures to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Operation Sindoor, urging citizens to do the same as a tribute to the armed forces' valiant efforts.
The image features the text 'Operation Sindoor' against a black backdrop, highlighted by a tricolour with a vermilion-filled 'O' symbolizing Hindu marital tradition. Modi reflected on the operation's important impact in a social media post, emphasizing the nation's pride in its armed forces.
Operation Sindoor, executed from May 7-10, 2025, was a strategic military response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which claimed the lives of 25 tourists. It focused on disrupting terrorist and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir along the western border.
