A Palestinian man, aged 37, was apprehended in Greece and charged with terrorism offences linked to the Hamas militant group, according to the Athens News Agency. Authorities reported that the individual was arrested on Crete, where he worked at a hotel, through a joint operation by Greece's intelligence service and anti-terrorism police.

The man faces charges related to Hamas membership and training for terrorist activities, police sources revealed. The investigation uncovered his online purchasing of explosive materials, and he is expected to address the charges in front of a prosecutor on Thursday, as per the Athens News Agency.

During searches, police seized various items including mobile phones, bank cards, a laptop, and a precision scale from his residences in Crete and Athens. The suspect, who arrived in Greece from Gaza a year ago with asylum, is under investigation for potential explosives training outside Europe, possibly in Malaysia, and any planned attacks. His arrest is linked to two detainees in Cyprus, previously held on terrorism suspicions since May 22, following the discovery of explosive materials.
