In a sharp rebuttal to the Congress over its caste census demands, BJP chief J P Nadda on Tuesday questioned the opposition party's historical representation of OBC, SC, and ST members within its ranks and committees during the UPA regime.
During a Rajya Sabha debate on the Union Budget, Nadda criticized Congress leaders for allegedly opposing reservation policies and the Swaminathan Commission's MSP recommendations during their rule, accusing them of now attempting to portray themselves as champions of OBCs and farmers.
Highlighting the BJP's inclusion of OBC and SC/ST members in government positions, Nadda asserted that shedding "crocodile tears" for OBCs would not benefit the Congress.
