BJP and JD(S) Unite for Anti-MUDA Scam Padyatra

The BJP successfully persuaded its ally, Janata Dal (Secular), to participate in a joint 'padyatra' against the alleged MUDA scam in Karnataka, starting from Bengaluru on August 3. The march aims to address irregularities in site distribution by MUDA. Key leaders from both parties emphasized unity despite earlier disagreements.

The BJP on Thursday succeeded in persuading its ally, the Janata Dal (Secular), to join its 'padyatra' against the alleged MUDA scam in Karnataka.

The disagreement arose after JD(S) withdrew from the march, citing the involvement of BJP leader Preetham Gowda. Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra, Union minister Pralhad Joshi, and party general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agrawal addressed the concerns, helping to smooth over the conflict.

Agrawal later emphasized unity within the ruling National Democratic Alliance, stating that both BJP and JD(S) will organize the padyatra from August 3 to 10. The march aims to protest alleged corruption and misallocation of sites by MUDA, a scam estimated to be worth Rs 4,000 crore.
