Iran's Revolutionary Guard has stated that a short-range projectile was responsible for the fatal attack on Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, accusing Israel of carrying out the operation with U.S. support, as reported by state TV.
The announcement, which called for retaliation, specified that a rocket equipped with a seven-kg warhead targeted Haniyeh's Tehran residence, resulting in significant damage. Details of the residence's location were not disclosed.
Haniyeh was in Iran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian. The Guard labeled the operation as a Zionist-US collaboration, promising severe retribution. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement but had previously threatened Haniyeh after Hamas's attack on southern Israel.
