Dulon Das, the first individual in Assam to obtain citizenship under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), has ignited a wave of controversy.
The 50-year-old Das, originally from Bangladesh's Sylhet, has resided in Silchar since 1988. He applied for citizenship through the government's online portal, with his application being approved and notified by the Union Home Ministry.
