Karnataka BJP Demands CM's Resignation Amid Corruption Scandal

The BJP and its NDA partner JD(S) have urged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign following Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's permission to prosecute him over a site allotment scam linked to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The parties accused the Congress government of corruption and inaction.

The BJP in Karnataka, alongside its NDA partner JD(S), called for the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday, citing moral grounds after Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot approved his prosecution in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scandal.

The coalition undertook a foot-march from Bengaluru to Mysuru from August 3 to 10, highlighting the alleged 'scam' and demanding Siddaramaiah step down. Opposition Leader R Ashoka criticized the Congress government in Karnataka as 'corrupt' and accused it of neglecting development over the past 15 months.

BJP state president B Y Vijayendra and Union Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Shobha Karandlaje also pressed for Siddaramaiah's resignation to ensure an impartial probe. They argued that the Chief Minister's exit would facilitate a transparent investigation into the serious allegations.
