Karnataka is engulfed in a political controversy as Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sanctioned an investigation against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over alleged irregularities in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority's site allocations.

This sanction has ignited protests from both Congress and BJP. Congress leaders and workers organized dharnas, foot-marches, and rallies across the state, denouncing the Governor's action. Demonstrations occurred in multiple locations including Bengaluru, Udupi, Mangaluru, and Mysuru.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar led the protests at 'Freedom Park' in Bengaluru, condemning the Governor and calling the situation a 'murder of democracy.' Meanwhile, BJP leaders demanded the Chief Minister's resignation, advocating for a transparent investigation. Former Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda also participated in the protests.
