Whether Congress will form an alliance with the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) remains uncertain. The first elections in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with vote counting on October 4. The Supreme Court has mandated the election process to conclude by September 30, 2024.
