Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday lashed out at the BJP for leveling unfounded allegations against him, pointing to his consistent support for the poor, Dalits, and social justice causes.
The accusations arise as Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot granted permission for a probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act and other charges. Siddaramaiah, speaking at an event commemorating former Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi and Devaraj Urs, insisted the BJP cannot genuinely support marginalized communities.
Siddaramaiah called the BJP’s allegations politically motivated, criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ as a façade. The Chief Minister has filed a writ petition challenging the Governor's order, labeling it legally flawed and driven by ulterior motives. The High Court has halted proceedings against Siddaramaiah, while the BJP demands his resignation for an unbiased investigation.
