Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump remains safe following an incident of gunfire exchange outside his Florida golf club, reported by the New York Post, citing law enforcement sources.
The Trump campaign confirmed his safety post-incident but did not provide specifics. The incident occurred at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach. The newspaper affirmed Trump was never in immediate danger.
Campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung and Palm Beach Sheriff's Office representatives have yet to comment on the situation.
This security scare comes shortly after Trump was injured in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on July 13. The attack, just months before the November 5 election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, led to the resignation of Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle due to the substantial security lapse.
During the Pennsylvania incident, Trump was grazed in the ear, and one rallygoer lost their life. The attacker, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, was neutralized by a Secret Service sniper.
