Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers staged a protest in Pune on Wednesday, alleging discrimination in the distribution of District Planning and Development Committee (DPDC) funds by the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra.
The NCP claims that MPs and MLAs from the ruling Mahayuti alliance are receiving DPDC funds for development projects, while counterparts from the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are being ignored.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who oversees the finance portfolio and serves as Pune's guardian minister, heads the panel allocating these funds in the western Maharashtra district.
Supriya Sule, NCP Lok Sabha member from Baramati, criticized the government for excluding MVA MPs and MLAs from the DPDC fund distribution. She labeled the state government's actions as vindictive and unfortunate.
