Alka Tiwari Appointed as Jharkhand Chief Secretary Amid Election Preparations

In a significant administrative move, the Election Commission has approved the Jharkhand government's nomination of Alka Tiwari as the new chief secretary. This decision comes as the state gears up for assembly elections set for November 13 and 20.
Tiwari, belonging to the 1988 IAS batch, has achieved the esteemed position by virtue of being the most senior officer in her cadre. Her appointment is expected to bring stability and experience to the administrative operations during the crucial election period.
Previously, the poll body also agreed to extend the term of the former chief secretary, Lalbiaktluanga Khiangte, by five months, marking a strategic continuity in the state's administrative framework.
