In a recent statement, BJP MLA Karam Shyam assured that there is no constitutional crisis in Manipur even after the resignation of N Biren Singh as the chief minister. Shyam expressed confidence that the central government, alongside local legislators, will resolve the ongoing leadership issues.
The assurance came during Shyam's visit to a hotel in Imphal, where he met with BJP's Northeast in-charge, Sambit Patra. This followed a meeting by a BJP delegation with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla amid the leadership crisis.
Experts warn that without anyone staking claim to form the government, Manipur may face a constitutional crisis and potentially fall under President's Rule. The political instability continues as the region watches closely for any announcements regarding new leadership.
