In a critical address, Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja has raised significant concerns regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent discussions with former US President Donald Trump. Raja expressed skepticism about the transparency of these talks and questioned whether they truly align with the interests of the Global South. In an interview with ANI, Raja emphasized the necessity of India asserting its stance in global politics amidst Trump's 'America First' policy, which he argued could be detrimental to the Global South's interests.

During his analysis, Raja criticized Modi's approach to both international and domestic challenges, asserting that it is essential for the Prime Minister to protect India's interests robustly during discussions with influential global figures like Trump. He accused Modi of lacking transparency, particularly during his recent US visit, and expressed disappointment at what he perceives as Modi's inadequacy in fully disclosing the details and objectives of such high-profile meetings.

Raja's discourse further probed into the core issues reportedly discussed between Modi and Trump, such as tariffs, nuclear policies, and climate change. He questioned the clear outcomes of these exchanges, voicing concern that both the Indian public and Parliament are kept unaware of the meeting's full agenda and results. Citing a deportation incident, Raja described the US's treatment of India as 'shameful' and urged Modi to resist pressures from Trump, advocating for a steadfast defense of both India's and the Global South's interests.
