Tensions are running high in Lucknow as members of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) and Bhim Army clashed with police during a protest outside the state assembly. Their demands prompted extensive security measures, including the deployment of civil forces such as the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and Rapid Reaction Force (RRF).
In response to the unrest, authorities have suspended metro services at KD Babu station, diverting trains away to prevent further gatherings. Major city areas like Parivartan Chowk, Hazratganj, and Sikanderbagh have been bolstered with heavy police presence. Meanwhile, party chief Chandrashekhar Azad intensified protests in Parliament, accusing the Uttar Pradesh government of undermining democracy.
Azad, voicing concerns to ANI, highlighted the perilous situation in the state, citing threats to journalists and the general public. He criticized the police and government for their unified stance and recounted his own detention while en route from Bihar. His remarks echo a broader pattern of dissent as Bhim Army continues their legislative assembly protest.
