In recent developments, BJP leader Praveen Khandelwal has voiced his support for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following contentious remarks made during Lok Sabha proceedings. Pradhan had labeled the Tamil Nadu government as 'dishonest' and described the state's populace as 'uncivilised,' a statement he later retracted as per parliamentary protocol, as confirmed by the Lok Sabha Speaker.
Earlier, addressing the ongoing debate over the three-language policy embedded within the New Education Policy, Pradhan had criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for what he saw as political maneuvers jeopardizing Tamil students' future. He accused the DMK of creating language barriers and acting undemocratically, prompting a DMK walkout from the Rajya Sabha.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin responded fiercely, condemning Pradhan's comments. In a strongly worded statement on social media, Stalin characterized Pradhan's approach as arrogant and disrespectful, asserting the need for addressing the issue with greater sensitivity. At the core of this conflict lies the controversial National Education Policy, which remains a point of contention in Tamil Nadu.
