Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed optimism on Monday about the potential restoration of statehood to the Union Territory during the upcoming Parliament session. Abdullah stated his intention to address the matter should no progress occur within this period.
Meanwhile, the Jammu & Kashmir Congress has announced plans to escalate their statehood restoration efforts starting August 1. The party's 'Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq' campaign will include outreach to various sectors and a chain hunger strike from August 9 to 21.
J&K Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra highlighted the party's successful rallies and announced further protests countering the BJP's narrative. The campaign will feature actions marking the abrogation of Article 370 as a 'black day' and culminate with a new strategy announcement on August 21.
