Gaurav Gogoi, Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, has raised serious allegations against the ruling party under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Gogoi claims that the government is attempting to undermine democracy and derail parliamentary proceedings, threatening India's democratic foundations.
Speaking at an all-party meeting before the Parliament's Winter session, Gogoi highlighted several concerns including national security, air pollution, the integrity of the voter list, farmers' issues, and foreign policy. He stressed the opposition's demand for comprehensive discussions on these pressing issues.
Gogoi criticized the government for not wanting to engage in short duration discussions on national security following the recent Delhi blast. He further alleged that the Election Commission appeared biased and there was insufficient economic support for farmers. The Congress' stance emphasizes a push for democratic integrity and transparency in parliamentary operations.
