The Odisha government has made significant strides in addressing illegal immigration, identifying 51 Bangladeshi nationals as infiltrators across various districts since the BJP assumed power.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in response to a question from BJD legislator Goutam Buddha Das, confirmed that 49 of these individuals have already been deported following legal procedures. Two others remain in custody over allegations of obtaining Indian passports through fraudulent means.

Majhi pointed out that the majority of these deportations originated from Urban Police Districts in Khurda and Cuttack. The identification and deportation processes are part of a larger, ongoing effort by the state to manage immigration effectively.
