The Election Commission of India has announced a one-week extension of Kerala's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) schedule due to the upcoming local body elections.
The polls are scheduled for December 9 and 11, with the vote count on December 13. This extension follows a Supreme Court plea from Indian Union Muslim League's national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty.
As a result, the draft electoral roll will now be published on December 23, and the final roll on February 21, 2026, with form digitisation extended to December 18.
