Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, accused the Gujarat government of oppressive measures on Tuesday, claiming he was barred from meeting jailed farmers in Rajkot. Kejriwal asserted the denial highlights governance worse than colonial rule, as he had sought prior permission for the visit.

The police had detained 88 farmers and AAP leaders following protests in the Botad district, with 46 still incarcerated. Kejriwal decried the government's actions, questioning if he was viewed as a criminal, insisting the jailed individuals are mere citizens, not criminals. He further alleged mistreatment in custody, claiming missing amenities and physical abuse, raising human rights concerns.

Highlighting systemic issues, Kejriwal lambasted the administration for allegedly fostering a drug menace, impacting families statewide. Criticizing the BJP's governance, he framed AAP as the only solution against the governing parties, promising to annul false charges swiftly if elected. His rhetoric signals an assertive electoral push by AAP, branding it as Gujarat's harbinger of change.
