In a heated political exchange, West Bengal's Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP, has demanded the removal of Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators, dismissing the need for detention camps. His remarks came as a challenge to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's statements on voter registration.
Addressing a crowd in Nadia's Krishnanagar, Banerjee accused the BJP of attempting to strip citizens of electoral rights and inciting fear among women. She called on women to spearhead resistance against the alleged malpractice of illegal voter deletions.
Amidst these clashes, the Election Commission of India announced deadline extensions for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls across various states, aiming to address concerns over voter list integrity and ensure transparent electoral processes.
