Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday embarked on the 'Sammridhi Yatra', his inaugural state-wide tour following a decisive electoral victory. The journey began in the remote West Champaran district, continuing a tradition for Kumar, who has often started his tours from this region during his tenure spanning over two decades.
Kumar was accompanied by Cabinet ministers Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Dilip Jaiswal. During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the state's efforts since 2005 to uplift women, including the introduction of a historic 50 percent reservation for women in panchayat and municipal elections, and a 35 percent quota in police jobs.
In addition to the yatra, Kumar is set to examine ongoing developmental projects in West Champaran. This initiative follows his 'Pragati Yatra', which unfolded across the state from December 2024 through February 2025.
