In an interview with ANI, Rao compared the current situation in West Bengal to the conduct of former Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, criticizing the absence of state leaders during high-profile visits. The controversy ignited after President Murmu expressed dissatisfaction with the event's venue and the lack of local leadership presence.
President Murmu articulated her disappointment, highlighting the logistical challenges that prevented attendees from reaching the conference and noting the absence of the Chief Minister and state ministers. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan reiterated the need for respecting the President's office, emphasizing its constitutional significance.
