In a surprising political maneuver, BJP stalwart Suvendu Adhikari has announced his decision to vacate one of the two constituencies he won recently, a move he intends to finalize within ten days in consultation with the party's central leadership.
Adhikari's victory over West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur has sparked a wave of celebration within the BJP ranks, but he has urged his supporters to maintain peace and abstain from victory rallies until after May 9. Instead, they are encouraged to celebrate in a disciplined manner following the oath-taking event.
Reflecting on past political struggles, Adhikari reminisced about the TMC's ascent to power in 2011 and expressed determination to uphold and expand BJP's influence in West Bengal. He highlighted plans for infrastructural improvements in Nandigram, including better access to drinking water and health and education facilities.
