V D Satheesan officially took office as Kerala's new Chief Minister on Monday, with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar overseeing the swearing-in ceremony. Satheesan pledged his oath in the name of God.
The inauguration was attended by prominent figures, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, reflecting significant support from the party's leadership. Former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and representatives from various political backgrounds were also present.
The swearing-in follows the recent Assembly elections, where the Congress-led UDF secured a decisive victory by winning 102 out of 140 seats, marking a shift in local governance dynamics.
