A rescue mission is underway in Telangana's SLBC tunnel after a section collapsed, trapping eight individuals. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy announced the collaboration with the Indian Army, Navy, and NDRF to facilitate the rescue efforts.
The SLBC tunnel, part of a decades-old project intended to irrigate four lakh acres in Nalgonda district, experienced a collapse while 70 workers were present. Although most managed to escape, the fate of eight remains uncertain.
Reddy, who is monitoring the situation closely, hopes for a successful rescue by evening. The minister also highlighted the significance and scale of the SLBC project which was sanctioned 35 years ago.
