In a significant move towards environmental sustainability, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled the 2025-26 budget, proposing an advanced command and control centre to monitor air and water quality, noise levels, and waste management in real-time.
The budget, which marks a 31.5% increase from last year, allocates Rs 506 crore to the environment and forest departments. This includes Rs 300 crore earmarked for pollution control and emergency measures, demonstrating a commitment to eco-friendly reforms.
Furthermore, the budget promises extensive initiatives like a massive tree plantation drive and the installation of water and air quality monitoring stations, aimed at ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
