A wet spell has enveloped the mid and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh, expected to persist until May 15, as reported by the local meteorological department. The state experienced scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms recently.

The Met office has issued a 'yellow' warning for isolated thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h in Chamba and Kangra over the weekend. Similar warnings are in place for Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts.

In light of rising water levels in the Beas River, the Larji Hydro Electric Project in Kullu plans a controlled water release. Authorities advise residents and tourists to avoid riverbanks. Maximum temperatures remain below normal, with Dhaulakuan registering the highest at 35°C.
