In a pressing environmental concern, the air quality in various parts of Haryana was categorized as 'very poor' on Tuesday, while neighboring Punjab saw its air quality fall into the 'poor' category.
According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Bahadurgarh in Haryana recorded the worst air quality with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 358 at 8 am. The situation was similarly dire in Jind, where the AQI was reported at 350, followed by Gurugram's Sector 51 and Vikas Sadan with AQIs of 348 and 325, respectively.
Other affected areas included Rohtak with an AQI of 343, Bhiwani at 307, and Kaithal and Sirsa, reporting 290 and 296, respectively, signaling a broader regional issue. Over in Punjab, Amritsar recorded an AQI of 212, Jalandhar 242, and Ludhiana 268, demonstrating an urgent need for measures to tackle air pollution.
