Tragic Encounters: Elephants in Jharkhand's Fields
Two individuals lost their lives in separate incidents involving wild elephants in Jharkhand's Giridih and Gumla districts. A 61-year-old farmer and a 55-year-old man were both fatally attacked. Two tragic incidents unfolded in Jharkhand as wild elephants claimed the lives of two individuals in separate attacks, according to officials on Saturday.
In the Giridih district, 61-year-old farmer Jaago Mahto was attacked and killed by a wild elephant while he was working in his field. Officials reported that Mahto was taken by surprise when the elephant charged.
In another incident, 55-year-old Lalku Ram from Gumla district was also killed by an elephant. Both cases have spurred authorities to impose preventive safety measures and provide compensation to the affected families.
