Several regions across Tamil Nadu, including major areas such as Chennai, Thiruvallur, and Kancheepuram, experienced moderate rainfall on Monday. This weather condition is largely attributed to the lingering remnants of the cyclonic storm Ditwah. The storm remains close to the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system has weakened into a deep depression and is expected to deteriorate further. Despite its weakening, the remnants could still induce rainfall across the area. It is anticipated to remain stationary as a diminished system for the next 24 hours.

The latest weather bulletin reports that the deep depression, the remnant of Cyclone Ditwah, is positioned over the southwest Bay of Bengal near the north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts. It moved northwards at a speed of 10 kmph during the last six hours and was last detected 90 km south-southeast of Chennai. The system is expected to weaken into a depression by noon on December 1.
