An Australian firefighter tragically lost his life when a tree fell on him as he battled a bushfire that ravaged northern Sydney, officials reported on Monday. Emergency services responded swiftly to the incident, located in the bushland near the rural town of Bulahdelah, situated 200 km (124 miles) from Sydney.
The deceased, aged 59, suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the scene. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed condolences, highlighting the immense risks faced by emergency personnel safeguarding communities. He stated, 'We honour that bravery every day.'
