Rocky Flintoff, son of famous all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, became the youngest player to score a century for the England Under-19 team during a test match against Sri Lanka. At only 16, Flintoff has made remarkable achievements, including breaking a 30-year-old record and signing his first professional contract.
Rocky Flintoff, the 16-year-old son of former England cricket star Andrew Flintoff, created history by becoming the youngest player to score a century for the England Under-19 team. This feat was accomplished during a test match against Sri Lanka on Thursday at the College Ground in Cheltenham.
Overnight, Flintoff was unbeaten at 82 after Sri Lanka posted 153 in their first innings. He swiftly brought up his century during the first session but was dismissed shortly afterward for 106, a knock that included nine boundaries and two sixes. England's captain, Hamza Shaikh, also hit a century as the team concluded their innings at 477.
Flintoff's stock has been on the rise, having recently broken a 30-year-old record in the Second Eleven Championship. He has also signed his first professional contract with Lancashire and represented England Under-19s in a one-day international series against Sri Lanka. His father, Andrew, is remembered as one of cricket's greatest all-rounders, while Michael Vaughan's son, Archie, also featured in the same match.
